The 2009 Honda Accord garnered 5 stars in the Driver Front and Passenger Front Categories for Safety. Miami drivers know how important safety is while driving through busy South Florida streets. The list of safety features the Honda Accord offers Miami drivers goes on and on. The Anti-Lock Brakes automatically sense when a tire has stopped rotating under extreme braking, and will modulate the brake pressure to allow the tire to rotate. This increases the vehicles ability to turn while braking; preventing a car accident from happening in busy Miami streets. The Honda Accord also features stability controls that automatically senses when the vehicles handling limits have been exceeded and reduces engine power and/or applies select brakes to help prevent the driver from losing control of the vehicle. Miami drivers are also safe in the occurrence of an accident with the Honda Accords Front, Side and Overhead Airbags.
The Accord comes either as a two-door coupe or four-door sedan with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder or 3.5-liter V6 engine. The four-cylinder engines are available in five-speed manual or automatic transmission for both styles of the Accord, while the V6 sedan is only available in five-speed automatic. The V6 coupe is available with a six-speed manual. Cloth upholstery is standard, however EX-L models feature leather seats and a leather-covered steering wheel. Safety is enhanced on all Accords with six standard airbags, including side-impact air bags for front seats and side curtain air bags. Four-wheel disc, anti-lock brakes, Vehicle Stability Assist with traction control, Brake Assist and active front head restraints also come standard.

South Florida's Sneak Peek at the 2010 Honda Pilot

The Honda Pilot underwent a major update only last year, with the mid-size SUV receiving a complete redesign, new trim levels and a more efficient powertrain. Not surprisingly, Honda has decided to leave the vehicle untouched for the 2010 model year, but that doesn’t mean there’s not a lot going for it.
Up against strong competitors like the Ford Edge, the popular Toyota Highlander, and the all-new Chevrolet Equinox, the 2010 Honda Pilot relies on its already strong reputation for efficiency, comfort, and quality, combining the appearance of a tough SUV with the practicality of a crossover.
Standard features across the line include a 3.5-liter i-VTEC V-6 engine equipped with Honda’s cylinder shutdown technology and delivering a peak output of 250 hp and 253 lb-ft of torque. This is matched to a five-speed automatic, with standard 2WD or optional 4WD modes available across the range. Emissions meet CARB's ULEV-2 rating, and the Pilot delivers fuel economy of 17/23/19 mpg (city/highway/combined) in 2WD guise, while the 4WD model slides in just below at 16/22/18 mpg. A 21-gallon fuel tank can comfortably provide a driving range of more than 400 miles on the highway.
The Pilot is once again available in four model choices (LX, EX, EX-L and Touring), each offered with standard air-conditioning, cruise control, seven-speaker CD stereo, and 17-inch wheels. Inside, the vehicle emphasizes an expansive feel with an efficient and modern design that supplies 152.7 cubic feet of passenger space within three rows of seats offering plenty of space for up to eight adults.
All models, starting with the base LX, are also equipped with a standard towing receiver and a maximum tow rating of 4,500 pounds on 4WD models and 3,500 pounds on 2WD models. Other features include a tailgate with a lift-up glass hatch that makes quick access to the back of the vehicle easier, as well as hill-start assist to keep your rear bumper off the hood of the car behind you in steep driving.
EX adds a tri-zone automatic climate control system with humidity control and air filtration, a power driver’s seat with ten-way power adjustment with lumbar support, six-disc in-dash CD changer, XM Satellite Radio, body colored side mirrors and door handles, and roof rails.
Opt for the Pilot EX-L and you also get leather trim, a four-way power adjustable front passenger seat, a moonroof, a rear view camera, and an optional 9-inch display screen and DVD entertainment system.
Topping out the range is the Touring model, which adds satellite navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port, a power tailgate and an optional rear-seat DVD entertainment system as well.
Aesthetically, the Pilot has always been a very boxy but mildly styled SUV—not a rugged, brutish brick like a Hummer, but more of a tall wagon. That car-like demeanor is what helped the first-generation Pilot break ground in the crossover SUV category back in 2002, and fortunately the latest model still has some of the visual appeal of a more rugged off-roader while holding on to its excellent ride quality and moderate size.
Prices rise slightly across the line for the 2010 Honda Pilot, now ranging from $27,895 for the 2WD Pilot LX to $38,645 for the 4WD Pilot Touring, excluding $710 destination.

Celebrate Hondas 50th Anniversary in Miami
Honda just marked its first 50 years in America, commemorating the establishment of American Honda Motor Co., Inc., in a small Los Angeles storefront on June 11, 1959.
"On behalf of the tens of thousands of Honda associates in America, past and present, we offer our deepest thanks to our customers for placing their trust in Honda over the past 50 years," said American Honda President & CEO Tetsuo Iwamura. "Today, in the face of new challenges, including the preservation of our environment, we renew our commitment to exceed the expectations of our customers and society."
Starting in 1959, with the fuel-efficient Honda 50 motorcycle, to the newly launched 2010 Honda Insight gas-electric hybrid vehicle, Honda has introduced new technologies and business strategies that have shaped the industry and the growth of Honda, including:
First automaker to meet U.S. Clean Air Act without a catalytic converter - Civic CVCC (1974)
First vehicle to top U.S. EPA list of most fuel efficient cars - Civic (1977)
First Japanese automaker to build motorcycles (1979) and automobiles (1982) in America - Marysville, Ohio*
First Japanese automaker to establish a luxury automobile brand -- Acura (1986)
First mass produced gas electric hybrid car introduced in America -- Insight (1999)
First government-certified hydrogen fuel cell vehicle -- FCX (2002)
Honda has steadily expanded its U.S. presence to encompass a broad range of products and operations. Today, Honda employs more than 27,000 U.S. associates engaged in the design, development, manufacturing, sale and servicing of Honda and Acura products including automobiles, motorcycles, ATVs, personal water craft, power equipment, and an advanced light jet.
Honda operates 10 U.S. manufacturing plants with two new plants under construction, along with 14 R&D facilities and more than 12 regional sales, parts and service, and finance offices around the country. The company's network of U.S. parts suppliers comprises 545 companies in 34 states with annual purchases exceeding $17.5 billion in 2008.
Honda History in America
American Honda was the first overseas subsidiary of Honda Motor Co., Ltd., established eleven years after HMC's inception as a small motorcycle manufacturer in Japan. Honda entered the U.S. market in 1959 with the step-through Honda 50 motorcycle and helped spur the dramatic growth of the U.S. motorcycle market, as it became the best-selling brand in America.
The introduction of the fuel-efficient Civic in 1973 paved the way for Honda's entry into the U.S. auto industry. As America faced the first oil crisis in 1973 and then the U.S. Clean Air Act tightened air emissions standards in 1975, Civic became both the first automobile to meet the Clean Air Act without the need for a catalytic converter and was ranked number one on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's first list of America's most fuel efficient cars (1977).
Based on its longstanding commitment to develop and build products close to the customer, Honda established research and development operations in America in 1975, and U.S. manufacturing in 1979, starting with production of motorcycles in Marysville, Ohio. Honda became the first Japanese automaker to build cars in America with the start of Accord production at the Marysville Auto Plant in November 1982. In May 2009, Honda reached the 15 million unit milestone in U.S. automobile production.
In 1986, the company expanded into the luxury automobile market with the creation of the Acura brand, the first luxury nameplate from a Japanese automaker. Acura earned a top rating in J.D. Power and Associates' Customer Satisfaction Index for four consecutive years (1986-1989).
In the 1990s, Honda introduced the U.S. automobile industry's first low-emissions vehicles, meeting challenging new emissions requirements in California while also enhancing fuel efficiency. In 1999, Honda introduced America's first mass production hybrid vehicle, the Insight, followed in 2002 by the Honda FCX, the first fuel cell vehicle certified by the U.S. government for daily use and the first to be placed in the hands of an individual consumer.
In 2008, the company began leasing its next-generation FCX Clarity fuel cell sedan, the industry's most advanced zero-emissions vehicle. In March 2009 Honda introduced the 2010 Honda Insight, America's most affordable hybrid, with plans to launch another all-new hybrid within the next several years based on the company's sporty CR-Z hybrid concept vehicle.
"Looking to the future, we are committed to advancing Honda's legacy of environmental leadership to help address the twin challenges of global climate change and energy sustainability," said Iwamura. "Along with a renewed focus on quality, we begin our next fifty years by accelerating our efforts to develop and deploy new technologies that put Honda at the forefront of this global challenge, to create a cleaner and more sustainable future for generations to come."

The 2009 Honda Odyssey: Miami's Performance Minivan
The Honda Odyssey has been called many names by automotive publications and reviewers, such as ‘the people’s minivan’, ‘the performance mini’, and ‘a true joy to drive’. However, it is not until you actually sit behind the wheel of an Odyssey that you understand what all the hype is about. After having taken a test-drive in one myself, I am now another one of thousands of Honda Odyssey converts in Miami.
Before I actually got behind the wheel, the first thing I noticed was the aggressive, innovative exterior styling on the ’09 Odyssey. The outer styling of the van has changed drastically, and now gives the minivan a stronger, classier presence, without being cheesy. Once you actually get into the Odyssey, you will notice the many creature comforts and features that make the Odyssey the award-winning vehicle it is. I will cover the majority of these features in a later post, but I’ll mention two of my favorites right now- the voice-activated navigation system and the Bluetooth handsfree technology, which help keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road (something many drivers in Miami could- or should- use).
Once I started up the 2009 Odyssey and got going, I noticed that the van drove more like a 4-door car than a minivan, which is surprising because all of the other minivans I have driven felt like school busses on the road. Thanks to Honda’s noise-cancelling technology, the Odyssey’s engine rumble is all but a whisper to those in the car, especially when compared to that of other minivans. Don’t let the whisper fool you though, the 245-HP 24-valve V-6 VTEC engine with VCM really pushes the Odyssey down the road, and offers the best and smoothest acceleration I have ever experienced in a minivan. Although I am used to navigating my much smaller 4-door Accord through the streets of Miami, maneuvering the Odyssey around corners and within traffic posed no problem at all, and stopping was a breeze.
In conclusion and in summary, The Honda Odyssey drives more like a sedan than a minivan, is long on features and creature comforts, and is short on price for the full package. In contrast to the usual “Soccer Mom” stigma associated with minivans, the official Honda website boldly demands that you “respect the van” and declares that “the van is back”; the 2009 Odyssey definitely goes a long way to make those points clear.

FYI For Future Honda Car Buyers in Miami
You might have heard that some automobile manufacturers and lenders are not as willing as they once were to loan money for an automobile. It is a fact that some manufacturers are not offering leasing plans for any of their vehicles and are relying on high credit scores to justify loaning money for an automobile.
Currently Honda Finance Corporation has never made it easier to qualify for a loan. They are eager to offer a variety of financing and leasing plans that have never been more attractive, and with low-APR loans on selected models, there has never been a better time to consider putting a new Honda in your parking spot. Honda automobiles already enjoy some of the best average mileage per gallon ratings of any manufacturer, along with world-class reliability and high resale values. If you need a vehicle, buying a Honda simply makes good sense.
At Brickell Honda of Miami, the staff prides themselves on having a large inventory with all the hard-to-find colors and models. If they don’t have the color or model you want they will get it, often while you wait.
Visit BrickellHondaDirect.com for more information or to get a quick quote on the Honda of your choice, or visit or call Brickell Honda of Miami today. We look forward to meeting you and working with you to make your car-buying goals come true!
Buy a Miami Honda for Best Leasing Options

Honda Financial has been named as one of the top 3 car lease companies in the non-luxury segment of cars by JD Power’s Consumer Financing Satisfaction Study, which was published December 2008. Four factors of customer satisfaction were used to formulate the results for the study; application approval process; customer contact; payment/billing process; and provider offering. This shows that leasing a Honda from Brickell Honda of Miami will not only be less expensive than leasing from other companies, but it will be more enjoyable too. For more information on how to lease your Honda, go to www.brickellhondadirect.com, or visit or call the Brickell Honda of Miami dealership (888-259-5362).

Lease A Honda In Miami
If you are considering the purchase of a new or certified used Honda, there are many good reasons that make a Honda lease a smart decision. You can drive a new vehicle more often, usually with less money down and a lower monthly payment than with traditional financing. Then, at the end of your Honda lease, you have several options to choose from.
How the Honda Lease Works
When you lease a new Honda Civic or Accord automobile, you contract to use it for the first - and best - period of its life. Your monthly payment covers the depreciation of the vehicle, plus a service fee. That means that you pay only for the portion of the vehicle's worth that you are actually going to use. In a lease, your mileage is generally limited to 12,000 or 15,000 miles per year, although you can "buy" extra miles up front to save excess mileage charges at the end of your lease.
Your monthly lease payment is calculated based on several factors, including the term of the lease, a service charge, the capitalized cost which is based, in part, on the purchase price, and the vehicle's projected residual value at the end of your lease. A capitalized cost reduction, similar to a down payment, can help reduce your monthly payment. To save time at the dealer, you can even apply for pre-approval online at BrickellHondaDirect.com. Don't forget to check with your insurance agent to make sure you have sufficient coverage.
Then What?
At the end of your lease, Honda offers a variety of choices. You can continue to lease the vehicle, purchase the vehicle at a predetermined price and keep it, or just return the vehicle and take care of any end-of-term obligations. Best of all, you have the option to return the vehicle and lease again. Honda’s Leadership Leasing Loyalty program makes it easy and affordable to get right into another Honda at the end of your lease.
Why Lease Through a Honda Dealer?
Leasing offers a complete package of convenience, savings, and benefits. In particular, the Honda Leadership Lease program provides several advantages that are not always available from other institutions:
* Generous mileage allowances
* Waiver of excess wear and use charges up to $1,500*
* No disposition fees
* Convenient online account access
* EasyPaySM automatic electronic bill payment
* Gap coverage included at no additional charge
If you have any questions about leasing a Honda, or if you would like to lease a Honda now, go to BrickellHondaDirect.com or visit or call Brickell Honda of Miami (888-259-5362) today.

Brickell Honda: Miami's Best Priced Car Leases
As most people know, Miami residents tend to lease cars more than the residents of most cities. Brickell Honda understands this, and has a low-price leasing program designed just for Miami residents. Some car dealers will artificially and exorbitantly inflate their lease pricing due to supply and demand, but not Brickell. Brickell Honda has 36-month lease plans as low as $149.00 per month, and sign-and-drive plans that start around $229.00. The exact pricing varies according to the car and your credit rating, but regardless of your credit standing or rating, Brickell Honda will work with you to come up with the best lease for your budget, and will help you find the car that fits you best. The 2009 Honda Fit Gets You Through Miami Traffic
I have talked about the 2009 Honda Fit and many of its features and awards, and how it is perfect for the Miami lifestyle, but I have never mentioned the most important part of every car (in my opinion, anyway), the sound system. This time, I’ll let Erin Riches, Senior Editor of top car website Edmunds.com do the talking for me.
“I have always liked the Honda Fit, both this generation and the original. I so enjoy this car's scrappy personality that I tend to be a little too forgiving about its shortcomings. Case in point: I still liked our 2007 Fit after enduring its unsupportive seats and sub-par stereo on a 15-hour drive back from Oregon.
Really, though, I couldn't own a first-gen Fit without making modifications to its sound system. However, such is not the case with our 2009 Honda Fit Sport's stereo. While not exactly top of the line, this six-speaker setup is bearable in a supermini. 3 points in its favor:
1. Clean signal from the amplifier. I listen to metal and hip-hop a lot (Talib Kweli for most of the weekend), and so far the Fit's amp isn't muddying them up.
2. Good soundstage. No rear subs in the Fit, but the combination of dash tweeters and drivers in each door makes for a pretty spacious feel in this surprisingly roomy hatchback.
3. Decent bass response. I am as surprised as you are, but Talib Kweli's "Beautiful Struggle" album actually has some punch to it in the 2009 Honda Fit as opposed to sounding flat.”
Point well stated, Erin.
I would also like to add that the Fit includes an iPod-compatible USB jack to make it easy to hook up your digital music player to the stereo. The Fit’s CD-player is also MP3/WMA compatible, and the radio is RDS-equipped. This sound system is just as suitable for those long weekend cruises along the beaches as it is for coping with traffic on weekday mornings. For more information on how you can “get Fit”, including price quotes and further model information, visit www.brickellhondadirect.com.

Miami Honda Fit: 2009 Winner for "Interior of the Year"

We all know that style is paramount in Miami, whether it is the trendiness and style of your clothes, your house, or even what you eat and drink everyday. Of course, what you drive is just as important as any of the things that were just mentioned, and the Honda Fit is tops when it comes to affordable style and overall trendiness.
Ward’s Auto World magazine, “the auto industry’s preferred magazine”, recently named their 2009 winners for “Interior of the Year”. The magazine judged a field of 35 new vehicles from the ’09 and ‘10 model year with all-new interiors or interiors that were upgraded from the previous model year. According to Drew Winter, the Editor-In-Chief of the magazine, “There are certain aspects we look at closely in the Interior of the Year competition, and value is just as important to us as fit-and-finish, styling, comfort and safety… an interior doesn’t have to be expensive to be good, but it does have to convey a sense of high-quality craftsmanship and have pleasing textures and low-gloss surfaces. Electronic systems have to be intuitive and easy to use and not just focus on offering a high number of features and functions. Consumers are becoming a lot savvier about what they want inside their vehicles.”
The Honda Fit was named as winner in the “Economy-Priced” car category. The editors lauded the Fit for its “ingenious second-row flexibility, ample headroom, and premium materials”, and later remarked that “Honda proves an inexpensive car need not feel cheap”. Sounds good to me.
To take a look inside the Honda Fit, check out http://automobiles.honda.com/fit/interior-360-view.aspx , or http://automobiles.honda.com/fit/interior.aspx . For more information and a quote on your Honda Fit, go to Brickell Honda of Miami’s online showroom at www.brickellhondadirect.com .

Shopping Made Easy with BrickellHondaDirect.com
If you’re like me, then you’re not a huge fan of shopping. Don’t get me wrong; I enjoy buying like anyone else- but with shopping often comes excessive bargaining, posturing, haggling, and headaches, which turns into a bad thing. As we all know, new car shopping usually involves all of the above (and more), and the process itself has never been enjoyable since the first time we went car shopping. That’s why I love the concept behind BrickellHondaDirect.com- there is no haggling involved (and there are no more headaches or stress from haggling either).
Instead, prices are set low from the beginning, so car buying becomes as easy as picking out some clothes from your favorite store- you just have to decide what fits you and your lifestyle the best. Also, some other online dealers raise the prices on their online cars, but BrickellHondaDirect keeps their prices low, and has some of the lowest prices online. BrickellHondaDirect’s tagline sums it up best: “Fast. Easy. Direct.” Now is the time for you to check out BrickellHondaDirect.com, and see how the low-price, no-haggle policy makes car buying enjoyable again.

Finance your Civic Hybrid in Miami
Brickell Honda of Miami is now offering finance specials on all Civics, including the 2009 Civic hybrid, which has won accolades from many publications, including USA Today, which said that the Civic compares favourably well with its gasoline-only cousin. In the words of USA Today writer James Healey, “(if) you prefer a small, fuel-efficient car that looks and drives like a conventional car, discovering a Civic hybrid could be like finding a gem”…“(the Civic hybrid is) a pleasant… way to save fuel”.
The Civic hybrid has plenty of “creature comfort” options available, such as heated leather seats, navigation, and XM satellite radio. The Civic hybrid also gets 45 mpg on the highway, which is great considering the price of gas these days. To help you save even more money than the money you’ll be saving on gas, Brickell Honda of Miami is offering special financing deals: 2.9% financing for up to 36 months, and 3.9% financing for up to 60 months on all Civics, including Civic Hybrids. Visit BrickellHondaDirect, com for more details, or visit or call the dealership at 888-259-5362.

Get Amazing Finance Deals on the Best Honda Car Ever in Miami
The “Best Car Ever” part may be up for debate, but the Honda Accord has its share of accolades and the sales figures to back it up. A sample of some of this years’ laudations:
-Yahoo! Autos created a new award in 2008 to recognize the number-one car on Yahoo! Autos. The judging criteria were user interest, intent, and satisfaction, and the Accord Sedan came out on top.
-Since 1983, Car and Driver magazine has named its “10 best autos” annually. In 27 years, Accord has been on the list 23 times. Car and Driver has also named the Honda Accord the “Number One Four-Cylinder Mainstream Sedan”. In similar fashion, Motor Trend magazine named Accord the benchmark for cars of its kind, after a side-by-side comparison with Toyota Camry. Motor Trend wrote “the Accord reigns as the best of the best- the benchmark.”
-Kelley Blue Book has given the entire Honda line, including the Accord, the “Best Resale Value” award for 2009.
- Kiplinger’s Personal Finance named Accord “Best in Class” for Sedans priced $25000-$30000.
-NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) and IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highwy Safety) have given the Accord a 5-star safety rating (the highest possible rating) and named Accord “Top Safety Pick”, respectively.
-The experts at Autoweek also had rave reviews about the attention to detail in building the new Accord, as well as the changes that were made from the previous version: “everything about the new model is bigger or better.”
-After thorough review of all the cars in the Honda line, The Union of Concerned Scientists named Honda as America’s greenest automaker for the fourth time in a row.
-USA Today’s headline almost says it all “Test Drive: The Sweet New Accord Does Honda Proud.” The reviewer stated “If you accept that the marketplace is the final judge of an automaker’s wisdom, you have to concede that over the years, Honda is among the gifted-and-talented group. The latest Honda feels so good to drive and generally is so nicely furnished that Honda’s standing is in no jeopardy.”
This is just a smattering of the rave reviews and awards that have been given to the Accord, and it is evident that Accord is one of the best cars on the market today, if not one of the best cars ever. Brickell Honda of Miami is currently offering special financing deals on the Accord, including 2.9% for up to 36 months, and 3.9% for up to 60 months. Now is the time to take advantage of this offer and to get your hands on one of the best cars ever. Another Civic, Another Fuel-Efficient Leader
Everyone in Miami knows about Honda’s Civic line, and how reliable, stylish, and well-priced they are; most of Miami’s car lovers know about the various Civic models such as the LX, DX, and EX. But both sets of people may be hard-pressed to tell you anything about the Civic GX.
The Civic GX is just like any other Civic, except that it is the only American-made car built by a major automaker that runs completely on natural gas. It is the only natural gas powered vehicle available in all 50 states, and is classified as an ILEV (inherently low-emissions vehicle) by EPA. The Civic GX received this designation because it produces 90% less emissions than most gasoline-powered cars on the market today, thanks to the fact that it uses natural gas. This Civic does not sacrifice legendary Honda performance, however, and is rated at 36 Miles per Gallon for highway driving (24 MPG city). Best of all, Civic GX drivers are eligible for a $4000 federal tax credit, and a special HOV-lane sticker, since the GX is classified as a qualified alternative fuel vehicle.
For more information about the Civic GX, contact a Brickell Honda of Miami representative at BrickellHondaDirect.com, or call a representative at 888-259-5362
