Honda Makes Cleaner Engines for the Future

Honda redesigns its CR-V model by giving it more fuel-efficient qualities such as a cleaner engine. The redesign of the 2010 model is linked with the 2.2 I DTEC diesel motor with an automatic transmission for the first time. The latest CR-V was restyled with a new bumper, modified grille, and ten-spoke ally wheels. The Executive version of the vehicle has the bumper and wheel arches painted in the vehicle color.

The 2.2 i-DTEC in the manual version has an output of 110 kW/150 hp with a fuel consumption listed at 6.5 liters per 100 kilometers which translates to a carbon dioxide emission figure of 171 grams per kilometer. Optionally the vehicle is available also with an automatic transmission. The 2.0-VTEC petrol-engine version has the same output with a consumption of 8.2 liters per 100 kilometers and a carbon dioxide emission of 190 g/km.

Find a Honda Accord at Every Miami Street Light

Honda recently announced that 83.8% of automobiles sold in U.S in 2009 were produced in the company’s North American manufacturing plants. This proves to be an all time high for the company as it has maintained a local production rate of 75% or higher since 1996. Honda currently operates 7 manufacturing plants in North America - four in the U.S., two in Canada and one in Mexico, producing fifteen different models, including the Civic sedan, coupe and GX (natural gas vehicle), Accord sedan, coupe and Crosstour, Odyssey, Pilot, Ridgeline, CR-V and Element, as well as the Acura TL, ZDX, RDX and MDX models.

Honda’s North American plants produced a total of more than one million vehicles in 2009, including those for export and currently in dealer inventory. “As part of our long-standing commitment to build Honda and Acura products close to our customers, we have steadily deepened our automobile manufacturing roots in the U.S. and the North America region,” said Tetsuo Iwamura, president & CEO of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “Using our flexible manufacturing capacity, we plan to continue to maintain our local production levels at approximately 80 percent of our annual sales.”

Honda seems to be making more and more appearances in North America due to its increase in production sales. Not only is Honda helping the American Economy by producing and selling more vehicles through the use of its North American plants but it is also able to cut out the cost of having them manufactured elsewhere.

Be sure to visit your local Miami dealership to see how you can benefit from driving a Honda. Choose from Honda’s long line of vehicles and see which one fits your style and personality.
